Staycations have become popular again in recent years. It’s
never been easier or cheaper which only adds to its appeal. In fact, holidaying
in the UK has come a long way since I was a child. When I was younger you
either camped (which we did a lot) stayed in a caravan or if you had the money
you stayed in a hotel. Nowadays you can rent cottages, apartments and even
someone’s spare room for the duration of your holiday.
If you are looking to use your property for short term lets,
you might want to consider the following:
Advertise your property well
Social media is a great tool for marketing. The majority of
people are active on social media these days so it pays to target your audience
via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or some of the other popular outlets if it
suits your property. For a small fee you can reach a larger target group too so
if you have a marketing budget available it would be worth paying a little
extra to reach a larger audience.
Don’t do all the hard work yourself
As already mentioned, staycations are really popular and
easy to book, the same can be said for managing your room, apartment or holiday
let bookings. Thanks to companies such as GuestReady
and their Airbnb
management services you can relax in knowing that your bookings are in safe hands.
Offer incentives
If you find that your property is empty for long periods of time,
maybe consider offering a discounted price for stays over a certain period
perhaps stay 3 nights for the price of 2 or if your customer is someone who
stays regularly why not offer them a loyalty card where they are rewarded with
a free nights stay for every 10 bookings they make.
Be a good host
Make your property welcoming that way people are more likely
to return or recommend you. You could offer a small welcome package upon
arrival with essentials such as tea, coffee and a small box of chocolates, if
your guests are traveling a long way it will be very much welcomed once they
arrive.
Should your guests have any problems or queries be sure to
deal with them quickly and efficiently. Sometimes things go wrong or break and
that can’t be helped but so longs as you rectify them your guests will be happy
and still recommend you to their friends.
Similarly, if you are looking to stay in an Airbnb you can book directly easily. If you are
looking to stay in one of the UK’s oldest and most historic cities make sure to
check out GuestReady. They are present all over the UK, Europe and the Middle
East, so you can enjoy their short term rental
services in York just like you can in London, even further afield in Paris, or Dubai.
Do you rent out your property on a short term basis already
or are you planning to in the future?
