Staying In Shape with MandM Direct

As you all know, I’m loving fitness at the moment. And now my baby-breeding days are over, it’s nice to finally think about me for a change and get my body back into shape.
It’s actually been quite a breath of fresh air to do too. I always thought that trying to lose weight and get fit, whilst having 3 children in tow, would be very hard work. But it isn’t…

So, how do I exercise? Well, in between dropping and picking up the boys from school, I pop to the gym. This is when the main bulk of my exercising gets done. Some weeks I’ll go every week day and even though it’s tiring, it leaves me feeling exhilarated and ready to attack the rest of the day.
When the boys aren’t at school though, getting chance to exercise can be hard work. I mean, going for a jog around the park is okay, but the view gets boring pretty quickly (and I always get chased by dogs). If I want something different then a walk down the canal is nice too, and a great way to get the kids out too.

This week saw us visit Scarborough for Charlie’s birthday. I knew that I’d be tempted with all those seaside delights – the fish & chips, fresh doughnuts, waffles, oh and ice cream – so I made sure to pack my exercise clothing so that I could work out whilst there.
I was recently contacted by MandM Direct and sent me out some fitness clothing to help me along the way. I mean, exercising is so much easier when you’re wearing the right clothing for the job! And fitness kit doesn’t need to be expensive, especially when you can save up to 75% all year round at MandM Direct
The problem I find with a lot of womens sportswear, is that it’s made to be fashionable, to be stylish, and isn’t practical. When I’m exercising, it isn’t a focus on what I’m wearing, but what I’m doing, so I like to make sure I’ve got the right clothing to make sure I’m getting the right support throughout.

So, when I found a top that had internal support, I knew that I’d love it. The ELLE SPORT Womens Ruched Performance Support Vest has a racer back and ruched sides. It has an integrated supportive bra inside to make sure nothings going to be popping out whilst I’m exercising. The mesh side panels give breathability and the smoke/sugar peach colourway matches with the coordinating ELLE SPORT Panelled Performance Capri Leggings.
The leggings have a flat elasticated waistband that sits higher on the body for added tummy support, the waist band has panels to create a slimming illusion. They are capri leggings so they don’t weigh me down when I’m running and the material is cool and super soft to the touch.

To finish off my ELLE SPORT outfit, I was also sent the Panelled Performance Sports Bra which is slightly different in colour – black and sugar pink marl. This bra is fully supportive and keeps everything held in place. It has removable padding although I had to take these out as they didn’t work well for me as a  bigger busted woman, but I guess they would be of help and comfort for others.
The bra is elasticated under the bust and although it’s skin tight to give a firm grip, it doesn’t feel tight at all and still gives me all the movement I require when exercising. It gave all the comfort I needed whilst working out whilst still making sure I was fully protected and making sure nothing was going to slip out.
A close-up of a person's lower legs on a sandy beach, wearing grey socks and navy blue New Balance trainers from MandM Direct. The "Charlie" tattoo on one ankle stands out, with the ocean and sky reflecting a perfect setting for keeping fit.

And of course, if working out a lot, a good quality pair of trainers is needed. I find that New Balance are an amazing brand for running shoes. I picked out these New Balance Womens W460 Neutral Running Shoes as they have been crafted with a Tech Ride cushioned insole and padded ankle collar for sublime comfort. The XLT Footbed for underfoot cushioning and flexibility, the mesh panelling helps to keep your feet cool and they have a highly textured sole for ideal traction.
To complete the look, I was also sent a pack of two Puma Classic Grey Socks. Puma is obviously a great sports brand and so their socks are great for wearing whilst working out. They are shorter in length than regular socks but aren’t quite trainer socks which seem to fall down when running.
Now I just need to keep this motivation going and making sure to exercise when I have time available. Even when I don’t have spare time, I try to do things that will help in the long run. So even playing out with the boys is keeping me moving, it’s just a case of always pushing for more!
