This was actually a post that was supposed to go live a few weeks back but for some reason (which I only just realised) it was still in my drafts folder and wasn’t published. So for that reason, I have updated it a little.
The wet weather can be horrible sometimes. We have all probably seen all over the news about the floods down south. The destruction it cause when it’s at its peak is so immense, you wouldn’t think that so much bad can happen from water.
We seem to have been lucky, with only getting small amounts of rain and wind. Yes, it is very bad when it comes, but it never lasts long so we have had no flooding. So, at the moment, we are trying to make the most of this weather as you never know when the worst of it could hit us.
We have been outside in the rain, playing. Wrapped up warm in jumpers, coats, hats and wellies, it has been nice for the boys to get outside for a bit whilst the wind calmed down.
I’m sure that we all know how hard parenting is. Trying to keep our children clean and tidy. But you know, sometimes, it’s nice for them to just get mucky, messy, muddy and wet. Why not, they will only be young once.
So out we went to jump in puddles…
Splashing, running, jumping and falling, the boys were absolutely soaked afterwards, but they had fun and that’s all that matters.

my children always used to love playing in puddles and im sure my granddaughter will too when shes old enough as her mum (my eldest daughter) still cant walk past a puddle without jumping in it if she has her wellies on
my 2 year old has just discovered the joys of puddle jumping

There is not many positives to the awful weather we have been having BUT seeing the kids enjoying jumping in puddles has to be one of the best free pastimes for fun and laughter 🙂
What a lovely piece – children can make the most of nearly any situation
Children do tend to enjoy jumping in puddles. I can recall doing so. Just recently I saw a little girl jumping in puddles, with her wellies on of course. What was really funny was :- When she invited her mum to join her. She wanted her mum to share in the fun.

I can recall playing in puddles as a child. We had our wellingtons on due to the weather. On the way home from school we would jump in the puddles, seeing how high we could splash the water.

Bet there are lots of deep puddles around at the mo! Think us parents should be careful which puddle our kids choose to jump into ! Eek!

awe takes me back to when my girl was that age loved jumping in puddles. Took her and her friend to asda one night it was pouring they were jumping in every puddle and came back soaked. Said to her the next night you coming to asda with me "no mum it's no fun when it's not raining" lol
We'll be getting our wellies out soon now that winter is coming and my daughter can't wait as she has a brand new pair of Peppa Pig ones to try out.
