I can’t lie, our house is a house full of gamers and we are addicts. We have multiple consoles in the household and some of us have more than one console (cough, cough it might be me *full disclosure* ok you twisted my arm, I admit it. It’s me) and we all love nothing better than to lose ourselves in our favourite games. We are not alone in our love of gaming as most of our family and friends love their games too and by looking on social media and YouTube you can see that there are even more people out there who are love their games too. But how do you tell if some is just a game lover or a real addict? Well, I’ve been thinking about this and I think if you or someone you knows does some or all of the following you might just have a bit of a problem:
You wait up all night to play a new game or new content
We are definitely guilty of this – who doesn’t wait up all night or get up early (when the game launches on a different time zone) so that you can play your brand new game or content before anyone else. If you’re a fan of Call of Duty and their Zombie games you’ll know what I’m talking about.
You play games on your phone
Who doesn’t own a smart phone these days? I’m not going to lie I love a bit of Candy Crush Saga and Coin Master on my mobile phone – it’s a great time waster especially when I am in between meetings and waiting in the car on the school runs.
You look for new games to play online
Do you like playing games on your phone or even app like games on your pc? If so, you’re not alone. I love playing games like this and have a number of games on my phone that I play daily. If you’re looking for a new game why not look at Plays.Org. They have lots of games that are sure to be a hit with everyone. My favourite is Scooby Doo – Doo Good Food Frenzy. If you’re a fan of Pac-Man you will love this game too. Guide Scoob through the mazes to collect food before the monsters catch him.
You have numerous consoles
I’ve already mentioned that we have a number of consoles in our house and we often buy the newer models soon after their release date if not on the actual release date.
You have every game in a franchise
My sons love Mario games and have every game available. To be fair they are great to play together and I used to love them (and still do) when I was their age. My husband and I love Call of Duty – I am a relatively new player but he has been playing the game since it’s first launch and has bought every new edition since.
Preorder is your best friend
Who doesn’t love their new game delivered on release day? Although some die hard gamers still queue outside stores waiting to be able to buy the newest games preordering online is now very popular.
You buy lots of game related merchandise
Gamers can often be found to own a lot of game related merchandise in their homes. My boys have clothing, toys, pencil cases, stationary, figures and even a controller holder that is based on their favourite video game character.
