Reducing Sugary Snacks With Jammie Dodgers Oaty Bites

Several round oat biscuits spill out of a red and white Oaty Bites packet labelled "Oat Bites." One biscuit has a heart shape, another is stamped with "JP," all set on a white textured surfaceโ€”perfect for lovers of sugary snacks.

Shopping for healthy, yet tasty and exciting snacks for the kids can be such hard work for a parent. You want to give your children a healthy diet, but no one wants to eat bland goodness all day every day, and children need to feel as though food is not only a substance to fill them up, but gives them a taste sensation when it hits their mouth.

As a parent, I must confess that even though I am very conscious and limit how many sweets, chocolates and crisps my children consume, when it comes to biscuits and snack packs, I always forget that these can sometimes lack any good nutritional content. I guess with these snacks being such a small part of their diet, it’s easy to disassociate.

Two red packets of Jammie Dodgers Oaty Bites, one standing and one lying down, with five mini biscuits displayed in front on a light surfaceโ€”perfect for fans of classic sugary treats.

Recently, I’ve started getting proactive with this and taken an interest into what is in their snacks. Making sure to keep to 2 snacks a day and making them less than 100 calories per snack. In doing this, I was shocked to see that a lot of snacks promoted towards children, are sometimes double this recommended intake.

And now, the trusted Jammie Dodgers brand has launched a brand new, exciting product called Oaty Bites to give our children the very same experience that we all enjoyed as children, but with tons of added goodness thrown in, and they come in a handy snack size pack too.

A green lunchbox with a cartoon dog design sits next to a packet of Jammie Dodgers Oaty Bites, labelled "little biscuits full of good fun," on a white surfaceโ€”an adorable twist on classic sugary snacks.

Made of wholegrain oats and raspberry fruit pieces, Oaty Bites from Jammie Dodgers are designed to be a healthier, more allowable treat for kids as Oaty Bites contain absolutely no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or artificial sweeteners, theyโ€™re also lower in sugar than most kidโ€™s mini biscuits on the market.

They have been designed with little ones under 5 in mind but I also think that they would be a perfect packed lunch treat too without the guilt that you’re filling your child full of sugar. Each Oaty Bites pack comes in 125g multipack with 5 inner packs inside, which currently retail at Tesco for ยฃ1.69.

A great source of fibre and with no hydrogenated fats or GM ingredients, these bites are suitable for vegetarians and are perfect for parents who are conscious over what their children are eating – us parents can be in the knowledge that our children are getting a snack that is wholesome and sweet with plenty of goodness thrown in.
Having Jammie Dodgers Oaty Bites means that the children get a tasty snack that is healthier than most mini biscuits on the market, and I get parenting points for actively choosing a snack that they love!
