MandM Direct | Wearing Denim in Summer

I’m always partial to a bit of denim, I even admit that I may have even done the dreaded ‘double denim’ in the 90’s. Although, to be honest, I was in my teens back then so you can forgive me for my fashion faux-pas.

When it comes to Summer though, wearing denim can get a bit flustering. I instead opt for a nice pair of denim short shorts and then choose my clothes around them, to suit. And since we have had some lovely weather and are hoping to get more, I have teamed up with MandM Direct to show off my denim Summer style.

To start off my outfit, I picked out a pair of Fluid Womens Denim Shorts which have a bleached effect. These shorts have a zip fly with a button fastening and 5 pocket design. The turn up leg gives an extra effect and added colour.

Picking denim shorts can be a pain as you want something that looks nice but don’t want to be uncomfortable in the heat of the Summer. These shorts are super comfortable with the help of the elastane which means that they stretch slightly to fit better.

I decided to go light and cool for Summer so went for a denim and white mix. White not only looks so nice aside the denim, but it is also perfect for that Summer beach look. This Onfire Womens White Cami Top works perfectly against the denim shorts.

I love the button details on this Onfire womens and its elasticated back gives a better fit, especially around the bust area. Made from 100% cotton, it is super soft but also quite a pain to iron. It has adjustable shoulder straps too.

Now, when it came to footwear, I was thinking of maybe a pair of sandals, but that just isn’t me. Plus, it’s quite common at the moment to wear Summer clothing with a nice pair of pumps, and these Onfire Womens White Canvas Pumps just fit the bill perfectly.

With a pink stripe addition to add a little colour to the pumps, these pumps have a woven tab branding with a rubber sole and toe cap. I’m usually very fussy with footwear as I prefer a wide fitting, but I found these quite suitable for me and a very good fit indeed.

And then, to go with the denim theme, I though it would be quite quirky to pair the shorts with a funky hat, and so went for the Board Angels Womens Cowboy Hat which also keeps the sun rays at bay too.

The cowboy hat is made from straw with cut out detail and a beaded tie. Although a little easily bent out of shape, in a way this worked to my advantage as it meant that I could shape it to the way I preferred it without fuss. It is perfect for Summer day on the beach.

If it was to come a little chilly in the evening (we are in Britain of course!), you could even team this outfit with a nice cardigan too, just to finish it off.

In total this outfit, the denim shorts, cami top, pumps and cowboy hat came to under £45 which is impressive. To be able to get a full outfit for that little is amazing, and at such great quality too, I’ll definitely be shopping at MandM Direct again!
