Laminate – For Love And Money!

Picking the right kind of flooring can be a bit of a nightmare, especially if you’re on the hunt for something child-friendly. Let’s face it, when you have little ones running round your home is never going to be spotless and it’s inevitable that things will get broken, but you can put measures in place to prevent such disasters!
Here at Luxury Flooring we think that the best option when it comes to incorporating kids and interior design is good old laminate!

What is laminate?
In a nutshell, laminate flooring is made up of multiple synthetic layers that are all fused together by lamination, hence the name. Laminate often simulates to look of wood, but there are wide ranges of designs available other than the traditional wooden vibe.
Why laminate?
As a parent you often question how someone so small can leave such a trail of destruction, if you had carpets there is a reason you got rid, trust me. The beauty of laminate is that it is incredibly durable and scratch resistant, but if in the unlikely instance it does get damaged, it’s good to know that single planks can be replaced without having to rip the whole floor up. If your children are budding artists and enjoy the world of arts and crafts then laminate is a great option for your home, it is resistant to penetration by most household chemicals and organic solvents such as crayons and marker pens etc, so no need to worry if there are any mishaps from your little Van Gough.

Is it allergy friendly?
We know that a lot of people suffer from allergies, especially children. One of the key things with laminate flooring is that you can always see what is on it, whether it’s dust or pet hairs, unlike carpets where particles are embedded into the fibres of the material. Simply sweep or vacuum your floor to remove any nasty bacteria from contributing to asthma etc.
So, what’s the damage?
A lot of people work to a budget when it comes to renovating their home, after all, times are tough and money is tight, but laminate offers a promise of quality without the worry of breaking the bank. It is one of the cheapest flooring options available on the market and is really easy to install yourself, should you wish to do so. If you’re looking for affordability with a long-lasting quality promise then this is the floor for you!
