You know what it’s like, you pop to the supermarket to buy a bottle of wine, and then you get to the alcohol isle to be met with rows of generic branded wine, and don’t have a clue which are meant to be any good, or which you should be getting to pair with your meal.
Enter, Independent Wine which is an online store, who bring exceptional wine to the forefront for those of us who want that top notch wine but don’t have the time to search for it. Their online range is made up of a hand-picked selection of some UK exclusive and award winning wines, all of outstanding quality.
This company only offers amazing wines, and to make sure they choose the right ones, their team travels to Italy to inspect wineries, vineyards and even the wine to make sure they’re up to scratch. What’s more, they always pay a fair price to the vineyard, so that those small winemakers also make enough profit which makes for an ethical way to do business.
What I personally love about Independent Wine is that they talk about each bottle thoroughly to give the customer a great insight into the wine you are choosing, and have posts about the ultimate guide to Italian wine so you can read and see what your preference would be. From explaining the winemaker, and the grape that is used, right to talking about each bottles tasting notes, and what they’d best be served with. The also show off all the medals each wine has won, some have a very extensive list.
And so, when I went looking on their site, I was browsing for a good quality bottle of Prosecco that I could enjoy on an evening. The Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry Millesimato 2018 stood out to me as one that I’d like to try, and so I clicked through to it’s page to get all the information about this bottle.
This 2018 single vintage Prosecco is made from winemaker Ca’ Di Rajo and comes from the Glera grape, as is explained on their website. And it is talked about how this prosecco has a delicious flavour profile, with aromas of acacia flowers, apple, lemon and grapefruit. Dry on the palette with a lightweight body, this wine has bold flavours but is well balanced.
It’s easy to see why this Millesimato Extra Dry Prosecco has won multiple gold, silver and bronze medals around the world, scooping gold in these medals:

But in all honesty, it is a pretty amazing bottle of prosecco. Bursting with flavour that packs a punch, it is easily a good bottle to enjoy served super chilled on its own, or mixed with Campari and sweet vermouth to make my absolute favourite cocktail, the Negroni Sbagliato.
