Do You Know How To Heat Your Home Efficiently?

Saving money is so important when you’re on a tight budget and so leaning that you can save money and heat your home efficiently by looking after your heating sources, is important.
I was working my way through this survey and realised that I had never actually ever bled my radiators and that this could be affecting the way they work and the heat they output. I never knew this, it never even crossed my mind that I should bleed them often.
Although when it comes to my boiler I take no chances. Once a year it gets a service to make sure it is running properly. The survey from Underfloor Heating Trade Supplies got me thinking about how I can use my home to efficiently heat itself up without wasting money.

A white metal radiator attached to a white wall, positioned above light-coloured wooden floorboards in a corner, shows how to heat your home efficiently while blending seamlessly with modern décor.
Obviously having double glazing is much better than single and having insulation in the walls as well as in the roof cavity helps to lock the heat in too. Plus, it’s all about knowing how to keep your house warm without using your heating source all of the time.
So my tips for heating your home would be…
If radiators heat your home:
Set your timer 20 minutes before you need your room to be warm so that it has time to reach your chosen temperature before you enter it.
Turn your heating off 30 minutes before you leave home or go to bed and the heat already built up will keep your house warm until you need it to.
If you have underfloor heating in your home:
Set your timer about 45 minutes before you need your room to be warm so that it has time to reach the required temperature.
Turn your heating off 15 minutes before you leave home or go to bed and use the heat already built up to warm your house.
