A Few things to See and Do in Cornwall

Cornwall is popular all year round with visitors young and old but in the summer people flock to the county to visit its beaches, fishing villages, countryside and much more. It’s somewhere I’ve never been but intend to visit in the future.

If you’re planning a trip to Cornwall chances are you’ve already looked into places to stay, attractions to visit and how you are going to get there. But if you’re stuck for ideas why not consider some of my suggestions below.

Visit a spa

Why not treat yourself with a visit to one of the many luxury spa hotels in Cornwall. If you’re only visiting for a day or so and a bit of rest and relaxation is what you crave, you’d be spoilt for choice on venues. If you’re planning to explore the local area why not start or end your day with a treatment to help get you in the holiday mood.

Try local cuisine

You can’t visit Cornwall without trying some of the food that’s on offer. Whether it’s seafood, Cornish pasties, ice cream or creamed tea you’re after you’ll be in for a culinary delight.

Go for a walk / embrace the environment

If exploring the local area is more your thing Cornwall is certainly a place to consider for your next trip. It has rolling hills, beautiful beaches and more. If you plan to spend the day exploring with a picnic, remember to leave nothing but your footprints and leave undisturbed areas alone.

See the wildlife

Cornwall has an array of wildlife on its doorstep and is home to 57 nature reserves. From whale sharks and dolphins to beavers and butterflies’ wildlife lovers will be kept on their toes trying to spot some of these much loved creatures.

Spend a day on the beach

With over 400 miles of coastline and 300 beaches you can see why people flock to Cornwall to spend a day or so on the beach. With picturesque coves and some of the best surf waves the country has to offer there is something for everyone.

Take in some history

Legend has it that King Arthur was born in Cornwall and you can even visit the castle where he supposedly lived in Tintagel. Cornwall is home to a well that has supposedly never run dry since the 15th century. Myths say that it cures all ailments and brings good fortune. If myths aren’t your thing, why not visit one of Cornwall’s many smugglers caves and see for yourself why pirates choose the coastline as it’s place to hide their bounty.

I’ve only touched based on some of the things you could do whilst visiting Cornwall, there is so much more to see and do.

Are you planning on visiting Cornwall soon? If so, what have you planned for your stay? I’d love to hear of your plans in the comments below.
