Packing for a family holiday is always exciting, whether you’re looking for cheap family holidays or planning the trip of a lifetime! You’re thinking about the amazing memories you’re going to create and all those fantastic photo opportunities. You’ve probably planned a mini itinerary of places to visit and booked tickets in advance for your favourite attractions. In fact, there’s probably so much on your mind that you may even forget to pack some absolute family holiday essentials!
If you’re feeling frazzled with the packing, here’s a short list of family holiday must haves that we wouldn’t be without!
A Robust GPS Tracker
This is an invaluable kit that we have been so impressed with. The ALLROUND Finder 4G is a super robust and portable GPS tracker that’s extremely versatile. This GPS tracker can be used in many different ways, but we have found it to be invaluable when it comes to ensuring our luggage is kept safe. Imagine never having to worry about losing your suitcase again! All you need to do is simply pop the GPS unit in your suitcase (the SIM card is already built into the tracker) and then you’re good to go. This GPS tracker works in 100 countries and there’s no extra cost for using it abroad. It’s also splash proof and has a battery life that lasts for 20 days, meaning you’ll almost certainly never run into trouble with it running out of battery when you’re on your family holidays.

Plenty Of Hand Sanitiser & Disinfectant Wipes
Even before COVID 19, hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes always made it onto my family holiday packing list. Whether you’re driving yourself, hopping on a plane, or taking public transport, you’re guaranteed to be touching lots of different surfaces coated in bacteria. One of the easiest ways to keep your family safe is to keep hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes somewhere that you can access easily, as you’ll never know when you might need them!
A Fully Stocked First Aid Kit
My advice is to never go on a family holiday without taking a fully stocked first aid kit with you. You can purchase fully stocked first aid kits that you can keep in your car or backpack, or you can make your own if you wish. Make sure that if you’re thinking about creating your own kit, everything is kept sterile! When purchasing first aid kits, you can find them in a variety of sizes to suit your needs, from small packs designed to fit in hiking backpacks, to larger ones that contain scissors, tweezers, and safety pins etc.
A Power Bank Or Two
I know that family holidays are meant to be about spending plenty of time together as a family unit, but sometimes you just need five minutes to yourself. Whether you’re looking for a 10 minute mindless Instagram scroll, or your kids are desperate to watch YouTube on their tablets, power banks will keep the whole family going. Don’t forget that you can also charge power banks in your car/rental car, so take a couple with you and make sure you have the right charging cables to avoid any disappointment.
Don’t Forget To Take Plenty Of Photos
My final piece of advice is to ensure that wherever you’re going and whatever you’re doing, you have a way of taking plenty of photos and videos! Whether that be your phone or your fancy DSLR camera, you won’t regret packing something capable of capturing memories. Make sure to check that you have plenty of storage space available before leaving though!
