Getting Ready For High School With Treads Shoes

It's safe to say that this school year has been pretty much a wash out as most children have been home from March onward. For T, with this being his last year of primary school, it was made worse by the fact that he didn't get to see his school friends, his teachers and or school, for those last few months.

What's more, it also meant that he hasn't been ale to do transition days, visit his new school, or prepare much, in any way, for his start in high school. Luckily his high school have been great, offering videos and information on their website so that he could see a tour of his school, and know what he can and can't bring to school.

The one thing that has changed, is the need for a more formal uniform in high school. T will need his schools logo'd blazer, and shirt, as well as proper school shoes. This did worry me at first as T really struggles with shoes most of the time, opting to wear trainers mostly. That was until I came across Treads shoes and realised that there are shoes out there that are comfortable and look great.

When it comes to school shoes, Treads are fully prepared for those kids who seem to grow overnight. All of their shoes have dual fit technology giving you the option of an extra ½ size for that perfect fit. Simply find your child's perfect size by using their shoe measuring gauge so you know exactly which size to pick. Once they arrive, if they feel like they could do with a little extra space in them, just remove the orange EVA foot bed to convert to the wider fit option.

The guys at Treads agreed to send T two pairs of their shoes to try out. I picked out a pair that I thought looked like the ideal pair of school shoes, and then T picked out his favourite pair too. T himself went for the Brooklyn shoes which are more of a casual style. This leather lace up, flat sole design has all the same components of the other pair, so is ideal for busy boys.

The pair I picked out for T were the Auckland shoes. These are a traditional moccasin toe design and have been built for active boys. A padded heel collar and cushioned foam footbed offers all day comfort, and made with permair leather that is soft enough to allow easy flexible movement. The sole is tough but also flexible, ideal for long slogs on the school yard.

What's better is that Treads offer a 12 Month Indestructible Guarantee on their shoes. If the shoe you buy falls short of the mark, you may return them within 12 months from the day of purchase.

And now for the good news. Treads are letting me run a giveaway to give away a pair of their shoes to one of my lucky blog readers. For your chance to win your choice of shoe form their site, in the site of your choice (stock depending) enter via the Rafflecopter form below... Good Luck!
