Advent Calendars For The Whole Family

It's coming so close to Christmas now, I can nearly smell the mince pies I'll be devouring! But it's so much closer to the 1st December, and we all know what that means - an Advent Calendar with a tiny slab of chocolate for the kids. But they don't have to be that way anymore. We have got a few this year and so I wanted to show what you can get instead.

Options For Handling Conflict In Your Marriage

Relationships aren’t always smooth sailing, and there are times you may find yourself in conflict with your spouse. It’s a wise idea to take action and get in front of what’s going on instead of sitting around waiting for your situation to get better.

The good news is you have options for how you can handle continuous clashes and disagreements in your marriage. The last circumstance you want is to be living unhappily and pretending like all is fine when it’s not. Find out what it is you can be doing to take a proactive approach, so you can experience happier days ahead.

How to help children who suffer from incontinence

It’s common for young children to have a phase of bed wetting or in some cases day wetting when they are on average five years old. There are many reasons for this. In some cases, a child might be a slightly heavier sleeper and might not realise they need to empty their bladder. So they will then wet their bed. Or they might be going through a stressful period or changes in their life such as starting school which has been said to contribute to bed wetting.

Sometimes, it can be down to the bladder not being fully developed which then means they might not be able to hold the urine in till the morning. Day wetting can often occur when a child tries to hold in their urine. They might be busy playing or too embarrassed to go to the toilet. It does tend to be a phase your child will grow out of by the time they reach 10 years old.

It’s always worth talking to a doctor in case there is something else happening such as a urine infection or an overactive bladder that might be causing them to become incontinence. There are some ways to help them if it a phase they are going through; here is how to help children who suffer from incontinence.

The White Rose Yorkshire Festive Festival

Nearly 2 week the boys and I were invited to an exclusive event at White Rose Centre in Leeds. I must admit, we haven't been to the White Rose for ages now and I hadn't realised at the time how much it has changed.

Recently extending to include a cinema, more eateries in The Village on the top floor and has a play area for little ones to use up some of their energy between shopping. We received the itinerary and the boys were a little excited to say the least.

Not only would we get to visit Santa's Grotto and see the big man himself, but we would also see the brand new Festive Yorkshire Market in The Village and watch the newly released movie, The Grinch at Cineworld.

Things To Do At Christmas In Liverpool

Over the past few years, we have visited Liverpool quite a few times. Partly because there is so much to do there and it's such a beautiful city, but mostly because my husband is a mega Liverpool football fan and likes to visit the city of the team he loves as much as possible.

Liverpool at Christmas is a whole new ball game though. It seems like Liverpool comes alive at Christmas time. I mean, I've never seen so many lights and sparkle - it's so festive, so pretty and just shines with glamour.

If you are sat wondering if Liverpool is a place to visit this Christmas, then the answer is definitely, yes! And here are just a couple of the places you should visit...

Why Road Trip Holidays Are The Best Way To See Europe

When you're a commuter, driving can become a chore, but it doesn't need to be. It can be a brilliant way to explore a landscape and enjoy the sights as you go. And a great way to view those sights that you'd usually miss by flying or by whizzing past by train.

Europe is home to some of the most iconic drives the world has to offer and The Scenic Edit road trip guide explores six of the most scenic routes. Covering the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse in Austria, right to the road from Spoleto to Norcia in Italy.

Our Visit To The Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary

A few weeks back, we were invited over to the Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary, and it was great timing as we were actually over at the coast on holiday at the time. We have previously visited Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary before and the boys loved it so much that it was great to go back and see if there were any new sights.

We were invited as part of their half-term A-scarium fun.  A-scarium is an immersive trail which takes you past some of the creepiest sea creatures. For a limited time only ofbeing during the school holidays, five potion ingredients will be hidden in various tanks throughout the A-scarium, and it was up to us to find them.

How We've Changed Food In The Travel Industry

There are a few things that go without saying when getting on-board any transport. Obviously, the first thing is that you’ve definitely forgotten something - be it your phone charger, toothbrush, or your socks. And mainly, you'll be the one sat near that annoying kid that likes kicking seats! And lastly, the food is probably going to be awful... or is it?

Travel food, and more specifically airline food, has long held a reputation for being sub-par at best. But I think our modern day era has changed this somewhat, and although you'll definitely not be getting fine dining at 37,000 feet, you will now get something that is actually edible and something that the kids will devour too.

How to Book a Relaxing Family Holiday This Winter

Want to escape the cold and rain this year and catch some winter sun? Family holidays are a time to create memories and take photos that you and your kids will cherish forever. However, it can also be tiring, stressful, and far from relaxing when you're chasing little people around a new town or city.

You might think that now you have children, your days of luxuriating on the beach have passed. However, with the right planning and preparation, there’s no reason you can’t sneak in some quality “you time" that will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged when you land back home.

If you want to book a (genuinely) relaxing family holiday this winter, then follow these three top tips.

First-time cruisers packing guide

With three children continually vying for my attention, the idea of getting away from it all and going on a cruise is very appealing. The idea of packing for one, however, can be overwhelming. There's a lot to consider – the weather, for starters. As a cruise takes you to lots of different destinations, the weather may change during the trip, so you’ll need to take this into consideration.

Then there's the cruise ship's dress code. Will you need to dress casual, smart casual and formal? And what about swim and sportswear for days by the pool?

Creating a Grey and White Modern Family Bathroom

Grey bathrooms are having a renaissance right now - this delightful tone is the colour trend of the decade and can make a bathroom look super modern if used correctly. Using pale greys can look too cold and dark greys will appear too black, but getting the right colourway will give you a gorgeous room to relax in after a hard day.

What I personally love about grey, is that it can be combined with different colours to really make the room pop. If paired with the right hues it can really make a designer scheme, give a calming effect, and add extra punch to your design.

How can you educate your child through gardening?

These days, children spend a lot more time indoors with more technology-oriented pastimes, so it's important for them to know that enjoyment can be found outdoors in the garden too. Spending a few hours outside doing a little gardening, can not only teach children about the world and plant-life around us, but also get them outdoors.

Which Flooring Is Best For Your Children's Playroom?

Having a place for all the children’s toys has been a lifesaver over the years - just having that designated space where all their accumulated toys can be stored and the door can be closed at night to hide away the mess. The boys do play all over the house and bring their toys around with them, but they know to put them back in their room at the end of the day and they like to keep it in order, having different storage boxes for different sorts of toys.

When creating a playroom for the children though, thinking about the flooring is an important consideration. There are so many options to choose from and are pros and cons for them all. It's really best to consider what is important to you and in your home to make sure your choice is the best option long term.
