This and That

Simba Hybrid Super King Mattress Review

Being a married couple, it’s safe to say that the bulk of our disagreements have been about our bed, the space in the bed, and just how we love differing things when we are both trying to sleep. I hate sleeping near anyone as I sleep and loathe when I roll towards my husband, and he has had spinal surgery so needs a good firm mattress that will alleviate any pressure on his spine.
I was recently contacted by Simba who have their signature, Simba Hybrid Mattress which comes in a box. A box! How weird is that! I was sent a Simba Hybrid Super King Mattress and it arrived vacuum packed and sealed in a box which is much smaller than the mattress – thank goodness.

Having a super king bed is amazing because you get space, but it’s oh so hard trying to move the mattress upstairs. Simba does this with ease as the box is small and easy to move.
You then take it out of the box, free it from its plastic covering using the handy cutting tool that comes with it and then leave it for between 3-5 hours to expand into its original shape so that it is ready to use. It has that initial memory foam smell, but that wears off after the first day or so.
And the you get to use it. The Simba Hybrid Mattress is far from being just a regular block of memory foam – it has been specially designed to meet the needs of all body shapes and sizes. It is a mattress with a unique combination of 2,500 conical pocket springs and responsive memory foam so you can sleep better, whatever your sleeping pattern.

Five Layers of Perfect Comfort
The Simba Mattress provides five luxurious layers designed to fit you and help you get the quality of sleep you’ve been dreaming of.
Sleep Surface
Their very own hypoallergenic air flow sleep surface provides freshness and temperature control.
Simbatex
Simba have developed a super comfort layer of what they call ‘Simbatex’ to give cool, gentle support.
Spring-Powered
The mattress features 2,500 unique conical pocket springs. They individually adjust as you sleep, so you wake up with a spring in your step for the whole day.
Shaped For You
The Visco memory foam moulds expertly to your body shape. It’s like a mattress tailor made for you.
Seventh Heaven
This perfectly engineered support base has 7 different zones to ensure a perfect night’s sleep for all.
A mattress for all sleeping patterns. Simba have created this mattress engineered for optimal sleep – the way it has been made allows two people with different sleeping patterns and body types to enjoy the perfect night’s sleep – without being interrupted by each other. Which is perfect for me and there’s nothing worse than being awoken by your other half!
And it doesn’t move at all. No roll together, no sinking as you climb on, no dint’s where you’ve been laid. The whole mattress is so solid and so robust that I can work on my laptop whilst not having to worry about my coffee tipping over.
The Simba Hybrid Mattress can be used on any type of bed base – slatted platform, flat base, divan or adjustable base and comes with a 10 year guarantee so that you know that it’s built to last. What’s more, Simba also offer a 100 day trial with a no questions asked pick-up and a refund.
Once the mattress had settled and the bed was ready to climb into, I couldn’t wait for the night to come so that I could try out my new mattress. And it wasn’t easy, it takes a couple of days to get to used to – as does getting used to any new mattress I guess. It’s quite a firm mattress so it holds you in place – I find myself moving less whilst in bed which in turn means sleeping more.
We’ve now had the mattress for 5 weeks and I really cannot remember how we managed to sleep without it. I now go to sleep at my side, and wake up at my side – no more rolling towards my husband during the night. My husband even likes it (and he is usually the first to find fault with things). The Simba Hybrid Mattress has been a great support for his back, even to the point that he said it’s the best mattress he has ever slept on!
Now it’s just a case of getting us out of bed on a morning, we even get the kids popping in for a lay on the Simba, as bedtime stories are better when the mattress is comfier!
