Father's Day,  Gifts

Gifts For Father’s Day 2017

I got a press release the other day and it mentioned that Father’s Day isn’t as important as Mother’s Day because it’s Googled less, and it got me thinking, are we in an age whereby, if Google says something, we believe it?

For me, Father’s Day is just as important, if not more so, than Mother’s Day. And I’d much rather my sons pick out something for my husband on Father’s Day, than for me on Mother’s Day. Anyway, I totally went off piste here but just wanted to point that out. So, let’s get on with the show now shall we.
I’m sure you’ve come to recognise that each year I put out a Father’s Day gift guide. Showing off all of those gifts that are currently on the market which I think would be ideal gifts for the men in my life, and hopefully yours too.
So, without further ado, here is my Father’s Day gift guide for 2017…

My husband is a lover of aftershaves and has many that he seems to collect over the years. Kenneth Cole is a new one to him but this brand seems to have gone all fresh with the introduction of Kenneth Cole Blue for Him. Designed for the modern and sophisticated man of style, Blue seduces with a powerful force of attraction. The intense citrus scent powers the fragrance with undertones of amber and cedarwood. It’s an amazing freshness that you don’t usually get from male fragrances.

For the older gentlemen, Bentley have introduced their Bentley Momentum aftershave, perfect for men in the know, who appreciate beautiful craftsmanship and quality. Bentley Momentum meets the same exacting standards as Bentley cars. In this new, forceful composition, the renowned master perfumer Nathalie Lorson creates excitement by contrasting aromatic freshness with potent, vibrant woods. With top notes of Bergamot and Aquatic Accord, heart notes of Jasmine Petals and base notes from sandalwood, it is such a mature fragrance.

From Best of British Beer, the Pail of Ales just makes enjoying a cold one just so much better. The Best of British Beer Pail of Ales is a gorgeous ice bucket filled with 5 craft beers – all specially chosen to be improved by a little light chill. There is also some popcorn included too so you can graze as you enjoy a cold one.

For the spirits lover, this Marquis de Montesquiou Fine Armagnac is made with a select blend of young eaux-de-vie aged between 2 and 5 years. and is one of the smoothest tipples I’ve tried. With notes of vanilla, apricot, caramel toast and warming spices on the nose, the palate is rounded and rich with a spicy yet fresh finish. What’s more, 31Dover.com have a £5 off sale on the Marquis de Montesquiou Fine Armagnac for Father’s Day too.

Show your good taste and style with the Anthony James Limited Edition Emperor Watch. This limited production timepiece features a galaxy black dial, silver roman numerals & white calendar cut. The arrow hands, all contained in a stylish gun metal colour metal case with matching black durable rubber strap ensures that this striking timepiece cannot fail to impress. Cleaning might not be a man’s usual fit, but my dad, and husband, love cleaning their cars and washing down anything outside. It’s like they see a hose and get giddy!! The Kärcher K2 Full Control Home pressure washer makes light work of any outdoor cleaning task. The innovative Full Control click system helps you select the perfect pressure setting. The wheels and extendable handle make it easy to move around, with on-board storage for all the cables, hose and accessories. Grooming products, I find, are always good gifts. And this Bluebeards Revenge Body Kit is just a great set of all those items that will keep even the manliest of men feeling squeaky clean and smelling utterly irresistible. Containing a flannel, Cooling Moisturiser, Big Blue Bar of Soap For Blokes, Anti-Perspirant Deodorant and a comb all handily packed in an attractive blue washbag stamped with The Bluebeards Revenge distinctive skull and crossbones logo.

Clothing is a great option as a gift too. Jacamo have a whole range of clothing, perfect for any sized man and the brand has also just partnered with Prostate Cancer UK to create a T-Shirt, of which all profits will be donated to the charity. Championed by sporting stars, Freddie Flintoff, Robbie Savage, and Shaun Goater, the T-Shirt is a great way of supporting such an important cause.

For the man that’s still got it, The Hip Store might have something perfect as a gift. This Barbour Tiverton Tee has a ribbed crew neckline with short sleeves and the signature Barbour Since 1894 logo is sewn onto the front of the t shirt. It’s a great t-shirt and would be a great gift for Father’s Day and you can even find so many more hippy items on their site too.

There is also this Hooded Zip Front Sweat Top from Australian L’Alpina would make a gorgeous gift this Father’s Day. With the instantly-recognisable kangaroo emblem, the iconic heritage Italian tennis and lifestyle clothing and apparel brand, Australian L’Alpina, is launching its first men’s spring and summer tennis and sports lifestyle clothing collections in the UK and the man in your life could be a recipient of their first collection.

It’s not just women that can appreciate a great candle and so Yankee Candle have released their Barbershop collection, or shall we say ‘mandles’ which are as a selection of glossy black candles with scents such as Aftershave and Chrome. These candles provide a clean and modern twist on a classic, and the black glass tumblers with brushed metal lids make a fantastic and contemporary gift for men.

My dad is a collector of tools – no lie! He has hundreds, no thousands of the things and they’ve taken over 2 sheds as well as cupboards in the house too. He’ always struggling to find those precious few that he always uses though and so this Wilko Tool Bag is the perfect gift to keep all his pieces in one place. Featuring eighteen storage pockets and a handy shoulder strap, it is perfect for DIY around the house.

Then it comes to needing a good card. Hallmark have such a huge range to pick from. From lovey dovey ones, to funny and even beer related ones. They even have the absolutely cute itty bitty’s which are such cute gifts, and the Superman one is ideal for the super man in your life. And if you aren’t a card lover, they have pop out gifts too, such as the cute dad bouquet or the Father’s Day ale one.

If the recipient is a music lover then NOW Music have a whole range of CD’s, perfect as a gift. NOW That’s What I Call Driving Rock and Now That’s What I Call Classic Soul have a mixture of different bands, and stylesof music to get anyone dancing (maybe not whilst driving eh!).
