WTBW | Mountain Warehouse Steve Backshall Collection

Now that T is getting a little older, he like to pick out his own clothing and pick stylish items rather than the bright patterns and funky slogans that his younger siblings go for. He loves animals though and so when Mountain Warehouse got in touch about their new kids collaboration with adventurer and explorer, Steve Backshall, I knew their clothing would be something that he would lobe to wear.

Following the success of the first collection for SS16, Steve is back with a second range for AW16. For children aged between 7-13 years, the collection has been made with the aim to encourage kids back outside and capture the spirit of adventure through design and functionality.

From trousers and tee's to hoodies and jackets, the range has everything ready so that your little explorer can be on their way out of the door to go on adventures. T was sent three items of clothing from their range - a tee, a hoodie and a jacket, so we got to testing them out to see how they were in the great outdoors.

The Steve Backshall Gorilla Youth Tee is perfect for little adventurers. Designed in 100% combed cotton with an eye-catching animal print, the top is lightweight, breathable and comfortable. The high quality print will not peel or fade after wearing or washing. The combed cotton material is extremely soft and strong, and great to wear against the skin.

To keep him warm when the weather drops, the Steve Backshall Wolf Youth Hoodie has a warm brushed fleece lining. Made from a 60% Cotton and 40% Polyester mix, this hoodie is easy to wash and doesn't lose its shape over time. Nice a thick with a hood, it is perfect over a tee in modest weather or under a jacket when it's colder.

The only slight problem T had with this one was that it was a slightly smaller fitting than the rest of the range. He managed to pull it off well but I can't imagine it being long until he outgrows it.

And then, to keep the rain at bay, the Steve Backshall Sherpa Jacket is ideal for the chilly winter months. Water resistant fabric, microfibre filling and soft Sherpa fleece lining for extra warmth with a cosy hood and taped seams for added protection when your child gets caught in the rain. The hood is also detachable and adjustable for the perfect fit.

Overall, not only did T love the animal designs on the tee and hoodie but the jacket kept him toasty warm and protected him from the rain whilst he was out on his adventures. They definitely get a thumbs up from him.
