Going On A Dessert Date At Kaspa's Leeds

It's not often we get to go out as a family as my husband works nights and the kids are at school during the day so it's a bit hit and miss as to when we have free time. Now the school holidays have hit, we took advantage of having some free days and opted to have a family date.

We chose none other than Kaspa's to dine at. Well, I say dine at but Kaspa's is actually a dessert house that offer the world’s favourite hot and cold desserts under one roof. And I mean, who doesn't like dessert for dinner sometimes?!

Housed in The Core Shopping Centre, Kaspa's stands out from the crowd with their bright pink and black design. It looks exactly how you'd imagine an American Diner to look - it's so quirky. We arrived, were shown to a table and given menus packed full of delectable goods.

Their menu is like it's been sent down from heaven. Oodles of ice cream, waffles, crepes, cakes and milkshakes. Seriously, the fat person in me was so excited at the thought of visiting and getting to stuff my face full of yumminess.

After much time had passed and many mind changes, I went to order our desserts. And so, let's start off with the ice cream sundaes.

Tropical Paradise has banana, Coconut and Mango ice cream scoops, with Kiwi, Strawberry and Pineapple fruit pieces. It's topped with whipped cream, and a combination of Kiwi and Peach syrups which gives this fruity delight such a sweet kick.

Deciding to pick out a chocolatey one, we went for the Hazelnut Choc Deluxe Sundae which has amazingly irresistible hazelnut choc ice cream combined with fresh Vanilla ice cream. It has been topped off with milk chocolate flakes, Ferrero Rochers and luxury Choco-hazelnut sauce. Seriously, I've never tasted ice cream so nice before.

To try out some of their other offerings, we next chose a Canadian Maple Waffle. Their fresh waffles are lightly dusted with cinnamon and drizzled with Canadian maple tree syrup. It was served with a side of ice cream (you could also choose cream if you wished) and the boys devoured this in no time.

Last up was the crepe - The Strawberries & Cream Crepe is a freshly baked crepe, served with fresh strawberry slices, drizzled with mouth-watering strawberry syrup and served with either whipped cream or fresh vanilla ice cream.

Overall, the whole trip was amazing. The beautiful decor, the lovely staff and the desserts - oh my gosh. There was literally so much. Their portions are huge so I'd maybe share next time we go (maybe not!).
