Vale of Mowbray - The Yorkshire Pork Pies

Being from Yorkshire, I love nothing more than championing Yorkshire brands, and so when Vale of Mowbray got in touch, I knew straight away that I'd want to try out their wares. Vale of Mowbray are a pork pie brand and have been baking and brewing delicious things for over 2 centuries. Over the past years though, they've stopped brewing so that they could achieve the perfect bake, making every pie even scrummier.

From snack pies, to large ones, and even the giant Grosvenor with is complete with eggs, they have a whole range of pies, and flavours available for everyone to tuck in to.

I was lucky enough to be sent out a whole hamper of their pork pies, as well as a few other select Yorkshire products, to try them out with. From chutneys, crisps and even a cheeky bottle of Prosecco, we got down to enjoying these tasty pies.

Made to their traditional recipes, only the freshest ingredients are baked into Vale of Mowbray pork pies. And their classic hot water pastry encases tender, cured pork, delicately seasoned with an irresistible blend of herbs and spices. All topped with a golden pastry lid and baked to mouth-watering perfection.

Working well with many flavours, I do love dipping mine in a little brown sauce, although these caramelised onions worked a treat with them also. The Yorkshire Chutney also went down a storm with the kids. The perfect tang to give s much extra pangs of flavour to the pies.

Perfect for many occasions, we love taking pork pies on picnics with us as they are the perfect snack item. The snack pies are just the perfect size but the large pies can be sliced up like a cake and shared out (or eaten all in one) as they are huge!

The flavours in the pie are just amazing. So flavoursome, and the pastry is just divine. Eve my husband who usually steers clear of pork pies, is a convert and has been stealing them from me enjoying them too.

I think the Vale of Mowbray should be totally proud of their pies and I am so proud to say that they are from my home county of Yorkshire!
