Cooking Healthy Meals With WW Smart Kitchen

Being a mum is hard work sometimes and it gets even harder when mealtimes hit. Now we could go for the easy options and cook frozen foods, but I am a lover of homemade and so try to cook proper meals as much as I can.

It is hard though to work out what goes with what. Okay, I can rustle up a good meal, but it's good to try new things, especially with the kids so they're growing up having a varied diet. That's why I love recipe boxes as it means that they send out the ingredients and tell me exactly what to do to get it to the finished meal.

Getting vegetables ready for Ricotta-Stuffed Chicken with Roasted Veg
WW Smart Kitchen stood out to me straight away as not only is it a recipe box, but it's a recipe box collaboration with Weight Watchers. Powered by Bearfaced Groceries, it offers perfectly portioned, fresh food accompanied by recipe cards, all Weight Watchers. (And if you read until the end of this post then I have a code for you to try your first box at a discount!)

Getting spicy when preparing the Minced Beef Bhuna
Helping to take the stress and strain out of day to day tasks, WW Smart Kitchen make making healthy, balanced meals simple to do, and it gives us the chance to try foods that I usually wouldn't buy.

Ordering a box cannot be simpler either. Just choose between the Classic Box or the Vegetarian Box, whether it's for 2 or 4 people, and 3 or 5 meals. It'll then tell you how much the box works out at per meal and the total price. What could be simpler!

All recipes have been developed by Weight Watchers and balanced by specialist chefs, with the SmartPoints values of all meals calculated by nutritionists to ensure that the service fits seamlessly into the Weight Watchers programme.

Minced Beef Bhuna
We were sent the 2 person, 3 meal Classic Box to try out and when it arrived, I was surprised at how much food actually came. A whole box full to the brim with fresh ingredients, some we'd never even tried before. I assumed that because it was based around Weight Watchers SmartPoints, they would b small meals that would leave you wanting more, but they weren't, The meals were plentiful and oh so filling.

Homemade sauce for the Aubergine and Halloumi Parcels
I loved the variety of the meals too - a chicken dish, a beef dish and a vegetarian one too. Now I'm not usually one to have vegetarian dishes but I was willing to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. Starting with the chicken, I liked how it explained every step along the way along with telling you how to cut up the veg and stuff the chicken. It meant that there was no mistakes made and we could just enjoy the meal, and the cooking of it too.

Rolling the Aubergine and Halloumi Parcels
The Minced Beef Bhuna was a personal favourite of mine and had so many spices, it made the whole house so fragrant whilst cooking. I thought it good how they didn't portion out the carbs, instead sending a full pack of rice, or pasta for the Aubergine and Halloumi Parcels, so that you could make your meal the correct size for you.

Aubergine and Halloumi Parcels
Quite shockingly, the Aubergine and Halloumi Parcels was my husbands favourite. He never usually likes vegetarian dishes but said that the aubergine and halloumi compensated for this and made him feel like he was getting a substantial meal, with the help of the hearty pasta and sauce that was part of the meal.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the WW Smart Kitchen Classic Box and it is something that I will purchase more of. I think it's great that the meals are different each week so that you're always trying something new.
