Visiting The Smiggle Leeds Store For The #SmiggleXmasParty

It's not often that we go to blogging events as they are usually down London way so when we got an invite to an event, it was nice to see that it was up North for a change and that we could go.

Last week I eventually got to get out and meet some lovely bloggers, when Smiggle had their #SmiggleXmasParty up in Leeds which isn't too far away at all. The Smiggle store is in the Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre in central Leeds, a couple of minute walk away from the train station, so it is super easy to find.

Do Mobiles Have A Negative Effect On Our Children?

We live in a modern era whereby everything is online now. I mean, when I look back to when I was a teenager, there was no way that I could contemplate that I would be working as an online writer when I was older.

The majority of what we do each day can be done online, from paying bills and playing games, to writing and socialising. We can even order groceries to our door nowadays. But sometimes I do look at myself and realise that I am working online too much, so I take a step back and take a day off. So I can get back into my own life and not this one online.

Getting Christmas Ready with Zeek

Buying for Christmas is one of my favourite things to do. I just love Christmas. I love shopping, wrapping presents and then giving them out and seeing the smiles on peoples faces as they see what they've got.

It can get expensive though and so I try to look around as much as possible to get the best deal. Buying gift cards can be good too as it means that I always have money to spend at a certain store without the actual money burning a hole in my pocket.

Healthy Family Meals from HelloFresh

As a family of 5, it is hard to find meals that we all like, and to figure out new ways to juzz up old meals to create ones that we all will like. It had ended up with us just eating to same things over and over, stuck in a rut.

So, when HelloFresh got in touch and asked if we would like to try their boxes, I knew that it would be the perfect time to get us all eating new things.

After checking their site, I come to the conclusion that the Family Box would work best for us as it gives enough of each meal to feed 2 adults and 2 children. Well there are 5 of us but J is only small so I was sure that we could make do.

How To Create A Spooktacular Halloween

Every year I say this, but Halloween is my favourite time of the year. When children really do get to be kids and dress up in silly costume and get to feast on sweets and goodies. A night where I get to spruce the house up to make it look super scary and horrifyingly haunted.

I just love it. I love the kids that come Trick or Treating and seeing all the terrifying costumes they are wearing, the candles that brightening up the night, I just love it all. Well apart from those clowns that is!

So I wanted to show off what is available this year to make Halloween the most spookiest yet...

Christmas Catering? Sorted!

Christmas can be a difficult time for a mum, especially for the inexperienced and unseasoned. While everyone else in the house is enjoying the festivities, mum is always rushed off her feet, burdened with all of the work. There’s presents, family visits and of course, the food. With all of their logistical efforts, mum does deserve some time off, right?

Food is usually one of the most important parts of the holiday season and is probably one of the biggest burdens a mum has to bear. Here are a few ways you can take some of the stress out of your Christmas catering arrangements, that I’m sure you’ll love.

Can We Fix It? Yes We Can! With The Bob The Builder Toy Range From Smoby

Boys and their tools eh! It's like something in their brain, it just clicks and whenever they see a screwdriver they just have to try and unscrew anything and everything in sight. And this is true for my brood. No matter what it is. If it's got a screw in it, it can be fixed.

Because everything is broken according to boys...

And it's not just the handy screwdriver. Anything can be banged if you have a hammer to hand. Anything can be cut if there's a saw nearby. They just love fixing things, and making a noise of course.

Creating Varied Packed Lunches For Children

I remember the days of having pack ups for school. Soggy sandwiches, crisps and an apple. Not varied at all and after a while, it became very boring to eat every day.

So when it came to the time that my sons started school, I initially wanted them to go on to school dinners but that didn't happen. The fussy little buggers decided that they wanted packed lunches like their friends and the visions of the soggy ham sandwiches cam flooding back like a nightmare.

I said there and then that I would make sure that the boys packed lunches would be better than mine were. That they'd get a varied diet and would love checking their lunch boxes each day to see what they had this time.

Dressing For My Shape After Having Children

Dressing For Your Shape, Simply Be, Fashion, Fitness, Skater Dress, Shoes, Women's Shoes, Pumps, Prom Dress, Floral Dress, Thinking Slimmer, Slimpod,

Since having children, I have noticed that my body has changed shape and sometimes it does get me down. From a size 10 before having children and going up to a 14, well nearly pushing a 16, which I knew was so bad for my health.

Around 6 months ago I made a conscious decision to try and get in shape and embarked on a more healthier lifestyle. Over the past couple of months my shape has changed again, but this time for the better.

Whacky Penthouse Wooden Playhouse from Big Game Hunters

A couple of weeks ago we started getting our garden sorted. It's something that we've wanted to do for ages but with the cost of a new fence being astronomical, we didn't want to create our beautiful new garden when it wasn't totally private.

Eventually we were able to get our fence put up and so had all this space, to create whatever we waned to. Having the fence seemed to give us the look of so much more space and we were struggling to come up with ideas, especially at the end of the garden where we wanted something to focus the eye on.

LIFE Mobile | A Little Update Of My Maxi Tariff

Being someone who works online every day, it is hard to try and keep one eye on the ball at home whilst juggling my online presence. I used to always have my laptop at the side of me, regularly missing my children's firsts because I was too concerned with looking over to my right to work.

That's when I realised that something needed to change and I invested in myself a little and bought a smartphone so that could keep track of my online world, and reply to emails, whilst out and about, getting home stuff done too.

But then of course that would put my online use at the mercy of of SIM card and if the Internet was having a slow day, I would be too.

Having Fun On Two Wheels

Anything with wheels are a favourite in our household. If it moves, it's loved. This also includes the likes of bikes and scooters. The boys can't get enough.

C is still struggling with his bike and can't quite grasp how pedal work. His anxiety plays a big part into why he is so scared, but he'll get there in the end. It just takes a bit of patience. T, on the other hand, can now pedal without stabilisers and is about to go to the next size bike, a 20" one.

They both do adore their scooters though, forever scooting all around, across the street and speeding down the hill to see who can win, as it always seems to be a race.

Thinking Slimmer | There's No Wagon To Fall Off

Losing weight is hard. It's even harder if you hate the way you look and have low self-esteem like I do. Over the past few months, I have been listening to the Slimpod from Thinking Slimmer in a bid to help me feel confident in myself whilst trying to lose those extra pounds.

When I would diet in the past it would be a struggle of trying to stay on plan whilst also seeing what goodies we had in the house and ending up eating the wrong things, a falling off the wagon.

That was a hard thing to go through. To feel disappointed in yourself but not able to do anything about it. It was like I had a habit, pushing my towards bad food. It was a habit that I just couldn't kick.

Getting Out and Exploring the Garden

When bringing up boys, I'm always aware of the stereotypes that they face during their life. Even as children they get told that they must love cars and hate anything pink for fear of being labelled as different, or wrong.

I hate this. And although they do play with cars, they do love their dolls too and playing house, and cooking as well. There is no law that states that boys must be boisterous and girls must be princesses so I think that as long as the children are happy, I don't care what they want to play with. It usually ends up being boxes anyway!
