Getting P.E. Ready With Get The Label

You know what it's like these days, even at primary school level kids are getting more and more in to sport, especially at school. The boys school is no different and they work a lot of around sports based activities, outdoor work and they do P.E. at least twice a week.

I think it's great that they go to a school that promotes a healthy lifestyle, filling up on Vitamin D outside rather than being stuck inside all the time in the classroom. So when it comes to their uniform, they have the regular school wear but they also have a choice of P.E. items that they need for when they're outside, doing their thing.

How To Use The #PowerOfFrozen To Entertain The Kids This Summer

As a parent, we know exactly what the summer holidays will be like. The kids love the first few weeks but as it's starts to tail off, the boredom kicks in and then it's 'there's nothing to do', 'I'm bored' so trying to find things for the kids to do to keep them occupied and entertained is the way to go.

My sons love helping my cook and I find that if they do actually help prepare dishes, then they more than likely eat them too. So as it comes to the end of the holidays, I start to get creative with the way we make things, to add a different slant to their meals and to keep them entertained as they help to make them.

We love being set challenges and so it has been great to get involved when Iceland challenged us to discover new products that can make cooking with kids easier with their #PowerOfFrozen challenge. We grabbed our reusable bags and off we went to Iceland, to see what we could find.

Our Family Adventures In Liverpool

Albert Docks Liverpool

It's not often that we get to go away as it all depends on if we can get spare time off together. We love UK breaks though so we often flit away for a few days whenever we have some free days. It's a great way to spend some precious moments together, and breaks up the boredom of the school holidays.

We usually go to seaside villages but have lately been looking at city breaks and that's when Liverpool came up. We did have a few options of where we could go, York, Manchester, but Liverpool was top because the husband supports their football team and apparently, we just had to go to their stadium *rolls eyes* as it was a must!

Be School Ready | Everything Your Child Might Need

It's getting to that time of year where we need to be prepared for the September start at school. Each year a new term of children take on the challenge of education in Reception which starts them on the ladder at school.

Remembering what your child will need can be confusing as there is so much out there and every child has different needs. Today I'm featuring my top products and items that I will be using for C as he starts on his journey at school.

Encouraging Baby’s Independence with SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk

There comes a time in baby’s lives that they want to explore the world on their own. To get a feel for things and be more independent as they take on the world and grow in to little people. As parents, we are in a bit of a quandary, getting excited as your baby learns something new but then having this sadness that your baby is also growing up and becoming more independent every day.

From around 6 months old, independence will start to develop. Their goal is to move about, any which way possible. Starting to roll over, sit up, bum shuffle, crawl and then walk on their own. Moving and grooving, trying to escape to new places.

Escaping at nappy changes now they've decided that they want to be free and wiggling like mad whenever a nappy does come near. And one of the best ones, starting to settle in to a routine where they sleep through and no longer need mum/dad during the night. I love this stage, although I do miss the nighttime cuddles that we used to have!

A Day at Mattel Play! Liverpool

A couple of weeks ago we had a nice little break in Liverpool. Whilst researching for what to do on our trip, I came across Mattel Play! Liverpool which is a themed play area in the heart of Liverpool, The Albert Dock.

With three different zones, Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam, there is so much to see and do at Mattel Play! So, we decided to book in for midday on the Monday of our trip and therefore got a 2 hour slot so that we could go an explore the themed areas.

Joseph was asleep when we initially arrived so they allowed us to take the pram upstairs into the first area. Normally they request that prams be left in the buggy park but luckily there is a lift so there is access available if needed.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I do love a good videogame and usually, as soon as a new one comes out, we'll purchase it and see what it's like. It's the same for the boys, they pick out new games and then work their way through until completed.

At the moment, for the likes of the Playstation 4, there doesn't seem to be all that many games that are suitable for children and so with the LEGO franchise in full flow, it's great to see them bringing out loads of new games that the boys can play. So far, they have played, and completed, all the LEGO games that have come out, so it's safe to say that as soon as LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out, they wanted to give it a go.

Write Size | The Perfect Size Pencils for Children

I don't write about Charlie's diagnosis that often because I believe that it shouldn't matter whether he suffers with anxiety and speech delay. He is capable of doing everyone else does, but just struggles and I don't want to make out like he is behind or anything because of these reasons. He'll get there eventually, he just needs a little more help to do so.

In the past year his speaking has come on loads and, although he does still struggle and gets infuriated when people don't understand him, he is flourishing and showing just how capable he is. So, now he's just about to start reception, we've started thinking about learning to write. Now I know that some children will have already learned the basics at his age, but as a parent, I knew that he wasn't ready previous to now, and didn't want to push him.

The First Big Walk with GORE-TEX

Joseph has just hit 18 month old and still doesn't walk much with shoes on. I'm a firm believer in letting little feet grow and so this week signalled his very first big walk with proper shoes on. Early this year, we were invited to be GORE-TEX Big Day Ambassadors and have been sent a pair of shoes for each of the boys s we can go on adventures and write about them along the way so this seemed like a perfect time to try them out.

Armed with his GORE-TEX Superfit Cooly SURROUND shoes, we were on our way to have a nice long walk and a play on the way.

In My Dreams | What I'd Spend My Lottery Winnings On

I'm sure we've all done it, I know I have. Had that daydream about what you'd spend the millions on if you were to be a winner of the lottery. I find myself doing it a lot and not even just on the lottery.

When I'm adding up our monthly outgoings, trying to save for a new kitchen. Well, If only I could win on a scratchcard, that would give me enough money for a stylish kitchen. When I'm browsing Thomson website for the perfect holiday and just wish I could win some coins to actually be able to take the kids abroad.

This got me thinking, what would I actually spend my money on if I was to win. I play the Lotto and EuroMillions every week and always have my fingers crossed that our numbers will come up. I also enjoy a bit of Lotto Betting where I bet online on big cash lotto draws from all around the world. You can bet on the world's biggest lottery jackpots everyday through Lottoland who offer Lotto Betting as well as online scratchcards and games too. Giving myself those extra chances at scooping a big jackpot and winning millions on the Lotto.

Enjoy A Romantic Weekend Away (Without The Kids)

When you’ve got kids, it’s easy to forget how important it is to take time for yourself. We all love our kids more than anything and want the best for them. However, we can’t possibly hope to provide the best for them if we haven’t taken care of ourselves! Ensuring that we’re relaxed and happy is one of the best ways to be the best parent to them. One way you can ensure you’re doing that, is by taking a weekend off with your partner. You could travel to a nearby city or country and have some time to yourself to recuperate. Here’s how you can make the most of such a weekend away!

Morrisons Ready Meals

I love food. I love cooking food and I love trying new foods. I cook fresh a lot but there are some days that I just have the time or the energy to bring out all the pots and pans and I instead opt for a ready meal.

It is a painstakingly hard process to try and pass on many ready meals to find the ones that actually fit the bill. To find ones that offer variety and big flavours with the nice taste of home cooked meals.

Morrisons have just launched a new range of delicious ready meals which have all been totally revamped and developed by their in-house expert chefs. There are dishes to suit all tastes and preferences – from Italian to Asian so they've got a really diverse offering.

Getting Creative in the Kitchen with Tate & Lyle

During the school holidays, the kids can start to get a little bored. I mean, 6 weeks is a long time to have no structure like they are used to at school. And so we try to organise things each day to keep them occupied and try to vary what they do and to get creative.

Getting creative in the kitchen is the best kind as you get to eat the results, so were sent some sugars and syrups from Tate & Lyle to help us on our baking way.

So, we got to creating 2 different recipes. One super easy chocolate rice krispie buns that the kids loved making and then the second one which was a little harder, some sumptuous homemade orange and whiskey jam. And here's how we got on...

Anniversary Gifts For The Man In Your Life

I'm sure most of us women have come to a special day in our mans life and realised just how fussy they are to buy for. I mean, it's not like they slyly try out point out and hint at everything they want like us women do.

So with that in mind, I decided to call out my favourite brands and show you just what is on offer when your Anniversary arrives and you have to find the perfect gift for your man.
