Celebrating New Years Eve At Home? Then Here Are My Must Haves!

I don't know about you lot, but when it comes to New Years Eve I just can't hack the going out stuff any more. All that having to get dressed up, dolled up and actually manage to stay awake until midnight is hard work - especially when you have kids.

As they say, staying in is the new going out and so this year we will be spending our night at home, with the boys and a few friends so we can sing and dance the night away with the company that we love. So I wanted to show you our idea of fun with a list of what my must haves are!

Now you can't have any celebrations without a bit of music and dancing, so the Electric Jukebox is exactly what you need for boogieing at home. The Electric Jukebox is Britain's first and only music streaming service and device, backed by Robbie Williams, Alesha Dixon, Stephen Fry and Sheryl Crow. Electric Jukebox turns your TV into a jukebox with millions of albums. It’s fun and easy to use, with no subscription or registration, and a simple 2 minute setup. Just plug in to your TV, connect to Wi-Fi and start playing the music you love.

And if you're getting your groove on then you might need some dutch courage in the shape of this lovely bottle of Hee Joy Spiced Rum from 31Dover.com. Hee Joy Spiced Rum is made with a combination of rums from Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana, blended together and allowed to finish in oak casks. A tipple to be enjoyed over ice or make it tropical with a mixer.

What's more, you can get 10% off anything at 31Dover using my special code - YORK31D.

Talking about mixers, The Cracker Drinks Co. pride themselves on creating delicious, natural, and sometimes unusual fruit blends. With the new range available in four distinct flavours: Mango & Passionfruit, Pineapple, Coconut & Lime, Still & Cloudy Lemonade and Apple, Mint & Lime, they'll work wonderfully mixed with a spirit, or on their own for non-drinkers and children for their very own mocktail.

If you're partial to a bit of champers then how about a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Vintage Champagne which comes complete with a Compass Gold Tin. Nicolas Feuillatte champagne is rich in fruity flavours. Blended with Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay, this champagne is fulfilling when celebrating any special occasion. The Brut Réserve is aged for at least 3 years in their cellars, even though the legal minimum ageing requirement is 15 months. A range of different crus make up the blend.

And if you're having champers then you need the perfect glasses to serve it in. These LSA Polka Champagne Flutes from Red Candy are metallic in colour and come as a set of 4. Separately hand-painted, this lustre finish gives these gorgeous glasses a vintage glamour look perfect for any party or celebration where champagne is called for! Each glass is mouth blown and made with the utmost care to ensure the highest quality glassware.

New Years Eve is the night of celebrations, one of those nights whereby some men loves to propose to their spouses. That's what happened 11 years ago with us anyway when my partner got down on one knee. And if you're planning on popping the question this year then make sure you have the perfect ring, such as this Emerald Diamond Halo Ring from ROX

This diamond ring is set with a 0.50ct emerald cut diamond, surrounded by a halo of brilliant cut diamonds with an extension to the shoulders of the shank. The combined carat weight of diamonds is 1.00ct. Hallmarked 750 18ct Canadian Certified white gold, this stunner of a ring will set you back at around £3,995 which I'm sure would fit with the '3 x monthly wages' mantra when buying the engagement ring.

Being party season it MUST involve sequins and glitter, especially if you're going to be showing off that huge new rock on your finger! Jamberry offer nail wraps which are uniquely designed to achieve a salon look that can’t be recreated with polish. Whether you’re watching the fireworks on TV, heading into town or going to a New Year’s extravaganza, applying some nail art like the above can finish off your outfit perfectly.

If you do decide to pop off to watch the fireworks, then London is your best bet. Watching them explode over Tower Bridge is mesmerising. The fireworks display sells out very quickly though and so how about watching them from the comfort of your own bed in a Novotel hotel room. For those travelling to the capital that want to avoid the busy crowds and keep out of the cold, make New Year’s Eve 2016 a memorable one by watching the fireworks on one of the city’s prime spots near Tower Bridge.

And if you are out taking photos of fireworks, or recording those embarrassing drunk singing moments on Facebook live, then make sure you protect your phone with a Tech21 Evo Elite Case. With an advanced 6.6ft drop protection and a sophisticated, durable finish for a fashion-forward lifestyle, this case has been designed to colour match your iPhone. The case benefits from FlexShock™ which is an ultra-efficient impact absorbing material so you'll have no more fear of breaking your phone.

  1. A beach atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and a beach wedding is no exception. This can be quite freeing when you are choosing your wedding dress. That's not to say your beach wedding has to be casual, but you can pretty much run the gamut on dress type for this occasion. You can go wedding gowns uk prom anything from an off-the-rack sun dress to a formal custom-made wedding gown. But there are some things you need to keep in mind when choosing what to wear on your special day.
