Since having children, I have noticed that my body has changed shape and sometimes it does get me down. From a size 10 before having children and going up to a 14, well nearly pushing a 16, which I knew was so bad for my health.
Around 6 months ago I made a conscious decision to try and get in shape and embarked on a more healthier lifestyle. Over the past couple of months my shape has changed again, but this time for the better.
The one thing that has changed my life is listening to the Slimpod from Thinking Slimmer which I play each night before bed. Every night for the past months. Just that. Just this one playlist that I drift off to sleep to, has changed my life.
And now, it's not about how much weight I've lost. It's not about whether I've dropped a dress size or 2. It's the fact that I can now look in the mirror to myself and not be filled with dread.
My shape has totally changed. I now have a waist! I used to be rounded, an apple shape I guess, but now I am leaning towards an hour-glass shape. It means that I can now wear dresses more often, that pull in at the waist.
And so I do. I have a whole cupboard full of affordable midi dresses and Simply Be is one of my favourite places to buy from. They just have a huge range and so much choice in sizes big and small, short and tall, something for everyone.
Today I am showing off my beautiful nude floral skater prom dress which I just adore. Because it is a skater dress it pulls in at the waist, this dress has the added help of having an elastic waistband, defining my figure so this dress is sure to flatter.
The black jersey bodice and lace sleeved complement the floral skirt. I love the sweetheart neckline which shows just enough bust but not too much. It is just a perfect dress to wear to any occasion. I think it's lovely and ideal for even colder weather as I can pop a pair of black tights, or even leggings, underneath which would coordinate well with the black on the top half.
Shoes are where I fall down slightly. I don't wear heels as I don't find them comfortable and would rather be comfy than stylish. So I always pick flats. That's why I went for these beautiful Sole Diva crossover pumps in a tweed design.
These trendy crossover pointy pumps are available in a choice of colours but I think the tweed ones work quite well. They are comfortable but could do with an extra few holes on the fastening as they do feel a bit loose at times.
Overall I am happy. I am proud with myself. And am so glad that I finally have a shape that I can dress for and be happy when buying clothes too.
