How Do Us Parents Unwind Around The Home?

When the kids are napping or at school or even at sleep at night, it gives us parents the chance to unwind and relax. Well, that's when all the household chores are done any way. But what do we do to unwind?

Rattan Direct have recently put together a survey orientating around what do parents do to unwind around the home. They're wanting as many respondents as possible so please do pop over and tell them how you unwind at home (link at the bottom of this post).

The survey breaks down into 3 key areas:-

1.      What parents do to unwind around the home
2.      How are you going to celebrate Christmas this year?
3.      Has Brexit actually affected your spending habits around the home and garden?

So, let's start off with the first topic. I find that if I'm stressed, a long bath usually helps me unwind and get rid of any frustrations from the day. I like using the garden to entertain (as long as it's not raining!) as I find it peaceful and gives more space for the kids to run around whilst the adults chat and moan!

Unfortunately for me, being at home doesn't get me away from any work stress as I work from home. If I have a deadline I'm working to, I constantly feel the need to get to work, even when the kids are home, to get any posts, photographs or videos sorted before anything else.

Then it comes to topic 2, all about Christmas. I love Christmas and it's something that we do as a family, every year going to my parents house to have lunch. Luckily, we don't have to travel far as my parents live on the same street as us.

The last topic is obviously the one that might be harder for some people to answer. All about Brexit. I try not to write about politics because I believe that our decisions are personal to us so, just because we might not agree with other's decisions, doesn't mean they are wrong.

Me personally though, I don't think Brexit has effected me, or my family, at all. We still have the same plans, spend roughly the same as we normally do and I can't see things changing much anytime in the near future.

So, as you can see. Unwinding to me is a long soak in the tub. I'm sure other parents have other ways of relaxing too, so make sure you pop over and fill the survey out HERE so we can see just what us parents do to relax at home.

  1. Relaxing time for me is with a good book and a glass of bubbly.

  2. I agree with you, a soak in the tub is a great way to unwind! I definitely have to wait until my kids are asleep, one of them usually comes in the bathroom for a poo!
