The First Big Walk with GORE-TEX

Joseph has just hit 18 month old and still doesn't walk much with shoes on. I'm a firm believer in letting little feet grow and so this week signalled his very first big walk with proper shoes on. Early this year, we were invited to be GORE-TEX Big Day Ambassadors and have been sent a pair of shoes for each of the boys s we can go on adventures and write about them along the way so this seemed like a perfect time to try them out.

Armed with his GORE-TEX Superfit Cooly SURROUND shoes, we were on our way to have a nice long walk and a play on the way.

He was a little apprehensive at first. Staying back with me whilst his big brothers ran off in front. Just having a slow toddle along the way, it was great to his him walking outdoors and getting fresh air. Although this does mean that my little boy is getting older!

After a bit of walking, Joseph came into his own though and took off running. With his new found feet and GORE-TEX Superfit Cooly SURROUND shoes, his confidence was soaring and so he enjoyed getting faster and taking big steps, waving his arms around as he ran, giggling with glee.

These new sport trainers are made using GORE-TEX Extended Comfort technology and have snap shut laces making them easy to put on and take off. Whether splashing through summer puddles in the park or running around like a headless chicken, children’s feet stay dry and comfortable thanks to the micro porous GORE-TEX membrane which provides weather protection and climate comfort.

I love that these GORE-TEX shoes are engineered with SURROUND product technology which offers 360 degree climate comfort for little feet. They are highly breathable all-around without compromising on durable waterproof protection. They have large vertical sole openings that allow excess heat and moisture to escape but at the same time a special GORE-TEX laminate that surrounds the feet from all sides prevents water from penetrating from outside. And a protection layer made from an extremely resistant fleece, protects feet and the GORE-TEX laminate from stones or sharp objects.

So not only are these shoes super breathable but they are waterproof too whilst also protecting little feet.

I must say, Joseph loved his first big walk wearing his GORE-TEX Superfit Cooly SURROUND shoes, even managing a round of football in between playing. Although he did just pinch the ball and run with it.

Keep an eye out for our next instalment from our GORE-TEX Ambassadorship where I'll be writing about Charlie and his adventures...
