LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I do love a good videogame and usually, as soon as a new one comes out, we'll purchase it and see what it's like. It's the same for the boys, they pick out new games and then work their way through until completed.

At the moment, for the likes of the Playstation 4, there doesn't seem to be all that many games that are suitable for children and so with the LEGO franchise in full flow, it's great to see them bringing out loads of new games that the boys can play. So far, they have played, and completed, all the LEGO games that have come out, so it's safe to say that as soon as LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out, they wanted to give it a go.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens marks the triumphant return of the No. 1 LEGO videogame franchise and immerses fans in the new Star Wars adventure like never before. Player get to relive the adventures from the epic blockbuster film in the best way possible - the LEGO way!

Featuring all of the storylines from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, retold through the witty LEGO lens. You can experience untold adventures that were set before Star Wars: The Force Awakens through exclusive new levels which takes place between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and this new film.

You can build, and rebuild your way through this game through the enhanced 'Multi-Builds' system which can be used to solve puzzles, part of the story or even just for fun. Even enemy fighters are now able to build using LEGO bricks to support their fellow Stormtroopers, calling in air-support, taking the fight to the Resistance with the power of LEGO.

During the game, you will be given a handful of characters that you can play as during levels. These characters will change throughout levels and in the end, you'll be able to swap and change between any character you like. So you can be Rey, Finn and Poe, and even Chewbacca and C-3PO. There are so many characters to chose from.

Blaster Battles are new to the LEGO world and allow you to use your surroundings as cover during battles to drive back the relentless First Order. The boys enjoyed these bits as it meant that they go to try out their weapons of choice to beat the bad guys.

The boys have played this game loads throughout the past month and have enjoyed the storyline and game itself so much. The LEGO comedy gives it that charming fun edge and I like how it gets the boys moving their fingers to the correct buttons, working on their dexterity as they play. It's safe to say that LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be popular in our household for time to come!
