UK Exploration | The Ultimate Camping Guide

I love holidaying in the UK and some of my fondest memories as a child are playing on the beach, paddling in the freezing sea and rambling through the overgrowth, and so I want to make sure the my children grow up knowing just how beautiful our own country is.

Living in Yorkshire, we are not short of a few places to visit. The Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and then right over the the East coast for sun, sea and sand at the seaside resorts, I adore my County and try to get the boys out as much as possible to discover new places and see new things.

The boys love camping over anything though and so, even whilst we were away a few weeks ago, we spent a night camped at the side of our caravan out in the wilderness, feeling the cold at our fingertips and enjoying cocoa with marshmallows.

It is hard to sort everything out though, especially when you have children. It's like a military operation to make sure you have packed everything needed and there is always something, usually the most important thing, that is forgotten.

That's why Halfords have brought out their very own handy camping guide which shows everything you need to know when it comes to exploring the great outdoors.

I must admit, it really does serve its purpose, even if it's just for the camping essentials checklist on the back page as this is perfect for ticking off everything that you will need and things that you usually forget.

For me though, I like that the guide isn't just about camping and also gives you some ideas of local hot spots to visit, such as York Minster or Flamingo Land in Yorkshire. I also love that it gives you extra little games that you can play in the 'entertaining little ones' sections - for when I-spy just wont do!

So now, you can pick up your handy guide and it tells you all you need to know about camping. Where to do it, what's best, recipes for over the fire, and all the essentials you'll require. All you need to do then, is to pop down to Halfords and get all your gear ready for the big exploration.

  3. We always went camping when we were children, you're right, it was like a military operation getting us and our things ready, but the extra freedom is great!

  4. I can't wait to take Blake camping although I'd definitely be sleeping in a caravan rather than a tent.
