David Swimwear | Swimsuit and Kaftan

It's not often that I would show myself on here. I am very self-conscious about since having children and hate that 'flap of fat' around my waist from where I carried and grew each and every one of my babies. It's a bug bear of mine whenever we go swimming or to the beach. I have always longed for something that would smooth out my wobbly bits and so I turned to David Swimwear.

David Swimwear offers a varied collection of styles that suit every woman's beach needs. The bright colours with the edgy prints makes this swimwear brand so desirable. The Italian brand have a huge collection from swimsuits, bikinis, tankinis and cover-ups.

Tummy control is one of the aims of their swimsuits with girdle and power nets added to the swimsuits to give the perfect control and shape. All the pieces are thought to shape the body and fit perfectly and the cover-ups are always present to hide the abundances and slim the figure.

And that's why I am here today, sharing photos of me in my lovely David Swimwear swimsuit and kaftan.

So, let's start with the kaftan. The kaftan has a poncho style with long arm openings and falls to around the upper thigh. It has a v-neck top with a sequin detail which coordinates well with the bold floral pattern. It comes as a 'one size fits all' sizing which I'm always weary about as they're usually tiny but this one fits well with loads of room to move around in.

I like to have a kaftan, even in warm weather, as it means that I can cover myself up until I step on the beach and gives me that extra little bit of confidence. I also like how I can wear it with a pair of shorts and it looks lovely as a top, without the swimsuit underneath.

The swimsuit itself is made from 85% Polyamide 15% Elastane and has a double layer of fabric around the front, the underneath one being power net, to give a greater tummy control. It has over the shoulder straps, an elastic band bust support and a deep scoop in back with full bottom coverage.

I like that it holds in around the tummy area, not just slimming the area down but also smoothing it out to make it look better whilst the band around the bust gives full support whilst not being too tight. The only thing I would say is that with it having a low back, there have been times when the straps alone cannot hold in, and up, my large bust and so the straps have come off my shoulders.

Overall, I love this swimsuit and how it has given some new found confidence to wear it whilst out on the beach. I think the bold pattern works well to help hide some of my body insecurities whilst the tummy control is just amazing. I also love how these swimsuits come as sets so you can buy coordinating outerwear like the kaftan.

This swimsuit and kaftan set are from last years season but you can check out what it on offer this year at www.miodestino.com.
