It's Snack Time With Super Yummies

When it comes to snack time for little ones, it is hard to find treats that aren't full of rubbish, and so you end up either scouring the supermarket for the best of a bad bunch, or giving in and giving snacks that are full of sugar and additives.

The Super Yummies is a brand new range of snacks, developed with mums and nutritionists, for little ones that want all the fun of eating by themselves, but gives them to goodness they need. With tongue-tingling goodies in scrumptious flavours, this new range of snacks is something to savour.

Your little one gets to discover an exciting world of textures and tastes in the Super Yummies range which are for little ones 12 months and above. We were sent the whole range to try out with the boys, and to let them give their verdict on them and so here are our thought's after giving them all a try.

So, lets start with what is actually available in the Super Yummies range. There are breadsticks, available in 2 flavours, spinach and tomato & herb, rice cakes, in pear & berries and apple & orange flavour, an apple & forest fruits yoghurt pouch and then strawberry, kiwi & banana squeeze and mixed berries & coconut squeeze pouches too. These are all suitable from 12 months old.

For children that are a 3 years plus, there are the slices and pieces ranges of  beetroot & parsnip slices, strawberry & yoghurt pieces and banana & yoghurt pieces. These are for older children as they are harder in texture than the rest of the range.

Not only is this an extensive range of options for snacks, but they also cover a lot of bases of what they provide for children's needs. The pieces and yoghurt provide much needed calcium, the slices give a portion of veg, the squeeze pouches offer a portion of fruit, the breadsticks are a source of fibre and the rice cakes are gluten free.

I think it's great that they offer such a variety of flavours and textures for little ones to try. Joseph has so far taken a liking to the spinach breadsticks and the pear and berries rice cakes. The pouches went down a treat also and he even tried eating one of them before I'd taken the cap off!

When it came to Charlie giving them a try, he loved the strawberry & yoghurt pieces. These are slices of strawberries which have been gently dried out mixed with dried natural yoghurt pieces to create a yummy snack for children, even Thomas enjoyed these also.

Although the beetroot and parsnip slices are aimed at children aged 36 month+, Joseph had a try of these and seemed to like them, well he did finish the whole pack. After having a quick nibble, I noticed that these vegetables had a natural sweetness which made a great snack for young ones.

Overall, the boys and I are thoroughly impressed with the Super Yummies range. Not only do they offer a whole range of different snacks for little ones to munch on but they also include only naturally occurring sugars and no additives so I know that my children are getting a snack that is full of goodness.

Don't forget to pop over to the Cow & Gate website if you would like more information about the Super Yummies range.
