My Top 5 Baby Must Haves

Since I only have a week left until I am due my third little boy, I thought I would write a post about my top 5 baby 'must have' items. Now, these aren't essentials as I'm sure we all know that we need sleepsuits and babygrows. These are more about the products that I love and will be using with bubs.

Guidelines say that covers should not be used with babies and so blankets of sleeping bags are advised. I have bought the Mr Moose Grobag for bubs as not only is is super cute with its snowflake embroidery, loveable appliqué and the Mr Moose character, but it is also a 3.5 tog sleeping bag so will keep bubs snuggly and warm throughout the cold night.

When it comes to travel systems, there are so many baby Pushchairs/Prams to choose from. From strollers, to 2 in 1's, 3 in 1's, it can get so confusing when trying to purchase the perfect one for you. I like to have the full kit, the biggy when it comes to prams, including a carrycot and carseat, so everything is an all-in-one and matching.

We decided on the Cosatto Ooba Duck Egg Travel System which has everything you need in a pram. Huge, robust wheels just in case the snow decides to make a re-appearance, complete with rain-covers for every seat unit, a cosy toes and a matching bag just to complete the look. This is one product that I cannot wait to get using!

Finding something for my baby to sleep in that is not only comfortable, but easy to squeeze at the side of my bed and makes for easy access during the night has been hard work. Cots are just too big and bulky for newborns to sleep in and mean that you can't easily access your baby during the night without having to actually get out of bed.

So instead, we will be getting a SnuzPod 3 in 1 Bedside Crib which has a see through zip-down mesh wall so that we can easily view our baby during the night and have simple access to him. And since it is smaller, it can be placed right next to the bed too.

Even though I will be starting off by breastfeeding, I do plan on mix feeding after a while too. The only problem I have with this, is trying to get a bottle made in a hurry as, when a baby wants a bottle, they want it right now, that minute. But boiling water and making the bottle, cooling it down all takes time.

That's why I've got the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine which will prepare a bottle in less than two minutes. First it filters water, then an initial hot shot of water kills any bacteria present in the formula and helps it to dissolve before topping up to the desired amount ready for feeding time. How fab is that?!

And then it comes to changing bags. There are so many brands and types out there that it can be quite confusing as to which is best to get. Well not for me. I have always wanted a Pink Lining changing bag and so have the Blooming Gorgeous Changing Bag in the Wise Owl design.

Not only is this a super cute bag in this design which matches perfectly with the owl theme that we have running through bumps things, but it has the gorgeous statement pink lining inside and so many compartments to hold bottles, nappies, and anything we need for bump. I really cannot wait to have this on the back of the pram, full with everything we need for bubs.

So, that's it, my top 5 products that I can't wait to use when bubs arrives. Not only do these products stand out from the crowd with regards to the pram and changing bag, but they are also practical and will help speed up feeding and the sleeping routine.

What is your must have baby item? Is there one thing that you just couldn't live without?

  1. I'm pregnant with my second daughter and have never tried the sleeping bags before. Do you use them instead of a duvet cover?

    1. Yes, you're exactly right. You aren't actually supposed to use duvets for babies anymore.
The sleeping bag is a thick velour type fabric which will keep your baby warm and since it fastens under the babies arms, there is no chance that they will wriggle under it like they can do with a duvet.
They really are a great item to get for little ones
