Today, the 6th march, signal World Book Day and Thomas' school are going all out for it. They want every child to dress up in their favourite book character. Now, it doesn't have to be a fully blown costume, it can be home made and simple or can go all out and buy one.
World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and a celebration of reading. It's actually the biggest celebration of its kind. The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore reading and the pleasures it brings.
I have been looking for Thomas a lovely costume but am struggling as he likes so many books and characters.
We are forever reading super hero books and comics. His favourite character been Batman. Thomas loves that he has a fast car and a super, great hideout. We went through loads of Batman costumes and Thomas loved them all.
What about pirates? Thomas adores pirates. We are always reading through Peter Pan and other pirate stories. There is so much choice on this range too. He could be Peter Pan himself, a fancy pirate or even a spooky ghost pirate.
I was trying to find Fun, book week fancy dress costumes that were a little more quirky. I love the Where's Wally designs. Thomas wont go for this though as he doesn't get who Wally is, but I love it.
After much searching and deliberation, we decided on a wizard costume. Thomas loves everything magical and is always watching something like Harry Potter or Sophia the First, wanting to be just like the sorcerer.
