Is it only me that actually doesn't forget peoples names? I actually think it may be to do with the male/female divide though as it always seems to be men that forget names the most (although that isn't scientific fact, just my perception).
I have a really good memory for names and dates. I can tell you Simon's phone number, d/o/b and National Insurance number as it just rolls off the tongue whereas Simon needs to have our sons birth dates tattooed onto his arms just so he doesn't forget. He is useless and has actually rang me in the past to ask me things that he needs to know. I even know his mums details and he wouldn't have a clue!
When I was a child I was used to regularly getting called 'Samantha. Mandy, Marcus' (... Marcus? You might have a bad memory but you can still see that I am female!) by my dad who cannot remember anyone's names. Even now he will call Thomas and Charlie by the wrong names.
Sometimes I don't mind and know that some people have bad memories for things like this but other times it annoys me. Especially if I am meeting someone and they forget my name or call me something else. Loads of times I have gone to interviews and been called Michelle, one time even Michael which gave the man interviewing a shock when he realised I wasn't a man.
I actually wonder whether I should get some name badges so no one could actually then get my name wrong. It will be there, on my t-shirt for all to see.
No, I'm not Samantha, Mandy, Michelle or even Marcus or Michael... I am Michaela... MICHAELA!!!
