Movember 2013 Week 1

Movember is when men around the world grow a moustache for the 30 days of November to raise awareness for mens health, specifically for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

For men to join in, you just need to start the month clean shaven, then grow their moustache all month long. The Moustache is a ribbon for men’s health which is the reason men all over the world join in.

In 2012, people involved, raised over £92 million globally and £26.9 million in the UK alone.

For the past few years, my husband has joined in and grown a moustache for the whole of November. This month he is doing it again and is wanting to help by raising money by doing so. You can Donate here to my husbands campaign.

I will keep you updated over the coming weeks, of my husbands progress and show you the style he has gone for.

Good luck!

  1. Such a great cause! My hubby also takes part but bless him, it's mainly a bumfluff tash lol I'd like to know when us girls can do without shaving our legs for a month, cos I've made a start already ;P x

  2. I think Movember is a wonderful idea. To highlight and support Men's Health. Reminds me of some cultures where men shave their head when in mourning. This allows acknowledgement and support from family and friends. Men being more openly supportive of each other is a good thing. Whilst us women can hopefully take some reassurance that men are willing to care and share.

  3. Great cause! My dad is doing it. Thinks he is the bees knees with a beard.

  4. Good luck to him . I'm joining in for the second year, there was such a sense of community in doing it . Though must say whilst it nice not to have to bother with shaving I hate the feel of it ...we must suffer for our art (I can hear women across the blogosphere screaming at that comment now I think of it ! lol)
