Style Over Comfort

Mummy Blogging, Parent Blog, Yorkshire Blog,

I'm not usually in to selfies when taking photos but thought I'd show you me, the real me, the woman behind this blog. I am not some posh dressed up lady, I am just a normal, everyday mum who just loves to write about family life and our adventures.

When I became a parent, my young style went out of the window. I went from going out with my friends dressed up to the nines, to wearing leggings and long tops.

I always say that I'm more of a scummy mummy rather than a yummy mummy as you can see in the above picture, I prefer to wear for comfort. I'm not into blouses and high heels as I get uncomfortable in them so opt for clothing that I better better in. This does mean that sometimes I get self-conscious about how people see me though.

Mummy Blogging, Parent Blog, Yorkshire Blog,
Being a young mum though, I would love to wear better clothing instead of my regular styles, like I used to. Plus, being stylish doesn't mean having to wear uncomfy clothing as nowadays there are some gorgeous designer clothing that not only look super stylish but also are comfy and wearable whilst walking out and about with the children.

This jumper and skirt go so well together and at £1,175 for the pair, I think it'll be a while till I can afford them. But look, don't they just look lovely and comfy to wear yet are designer.

So maybe it isn't one or the other. Maybe I can eventually start to wear stylish clothing that will have the comfort factor and be suitable for an on-the-go mum like me.

Maybe I don't need to feel self-conscious about people judging me as I can now find clothes to suit and will at last maybe feel and look like a yummy mummy!

  3. I choose comfort over style always now - for clothing, shoes etc. I do love my home comforts though so save longer and spend more on the home!

  7. I'm definitely in the comfy camp :)
I need to start wearing the clothes I lust after. The top and skirt is very pretty - I don't think my bank balance would allow it though lol

  10. I think most mums are the same, I'm lucky if I manage to put make up on, never mind put the expensive clothes on I used to wear before I had my daughter :-)

  11. Hi, I'm exactly the same as you, used to make an effort all the time and now there's just not enough time to spend on 'me' and am so tired all the time comfy is just easier, would really love to start being a bit more stylish, as know I feel so much better in myself when I am. Thanks for the post, good to know I'm not the only one!!
