Half Term Holidays: Where to go?

Now Thomas is in Nursery we can only go on breaks during school holidays. With the February half -term coming up, it's got me thinking about where I can take the boys for a fun filled holiday.

Abroad
Taking children abroad is great fun. Sea, sand and the hot weather are all reasons why in 2010 we had a holiday in Menorca. We booked a private Villa as Thomas was only 1 year old and a hotel would have been too busy for him to play.

It was a great holiday but the weather did get too much for Thomas and most days we had to stay inside to keep him cool and it did become quite a chore trying to find food that he would eat. Although I love going abroad, I think it's best suited for older children who can handle the heat better.

Countryside
Staying in the countryside is a great option when having young children. Not only can you explore the great outdoors but it has all the English charm and fun seaside activities.

Yorkshire-cottages.info have a great selection of luxury cottages online. My personal favourite being this one in Filey.
Having being on the East coast of Yorkshire many times as a child, I love the Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington area, especially for the variety of things to do.

With half-term only a few week away it's best to be prepared so here are some of the cottages available over half term.

Theme Parks
I'm sure that everyone loves going to a theme park and there are quite a few you can choose to go to. I'm not great with rides so don't particularly like them but Simon and the boys love them. I think going to a theme park is best suited when your in a big groups of adults and children so you can all go on the rides you prefer and there will always be someone happy to hold your bags whilst you pop onto one.

With all the places to go, I'm sure everyone will find something suited to them and their family, where will you be going for half term?
